Lets not forget to mention the Deathsqeetos that chase you for kilometers befor one shotting you becase you got too close to a Plains sandbar in the middle of the ocean.

I agree with the OP, this is something that the devs should consider adjusting.

The distance that some of the mobs in this game will chase you is beyond Ludicrous. As long as a mob can path to your PC and the chunk they are currently in is loaded and being updated you are in potential danger. I've had a half dozen Furlings chase me across a huge Black Forest Island and into a Meadows area before, was not at all fun.
