In V+, increase the area of your workbenches. Put it to 200 or, hell, even 500 and you'll rarely get a problem anywhere near where you're working again, even raids start so far away that you can ignore them entirely. Can't help while you're exploring, though. I just stay away from spawners and travel during the day.
