Yes there are some mods that can enable you to tinker the game how you want. Want less grind ? Increase drops, decrease stamina management, make food not a shore to get and much more.

And yes the games performance is still pretty bad which still is baffling with these graphics.. it should run on every toaster with stable 60 fps but it won't and will probably only get better near 1.0 release in 3-10 years.. since performance is something that is mostly done for last. Nothing changed there.

That said. The game is worth for one or two playthroughs. The progression spiral is fun. Until you unlocked everything .. then it turns into just a builder and farmer game.
