In Dark Souls if you die again, you lose all of your souls. If you do manage to retrieve your souls, you gain no additional protections, which could lead to immediate death again.

In Valheim, if you die again, you lose nothing because you cannot lose more skills for 10 minutes after a death (assuming you came back for your corpse within that timeframe). The Corpse Run buff obtained by picking up you stuff gives several buffs for a short time, making it quite possible you could kill whatever killed you before.

Skills in general have very little effect in the game anyway, with archery basically being the only one that really makes a difference.
