It really depends on what you want from the mods. There's QoL mods that help with inventory management or gardening or building and more, there's mods that add new build pieces, mods that add extra content for unfinished biomes, mods to add unique features for equipment... All kinds of stuff, and they all "enhance the game experience" more or less.

It really heavily depends on what exactly you want to do and how you want to play. Do you want to remove Mist? Do you want to auto-store items to chests? Auto-equip shields when using one-handed weapons? Save build plans for rapid reconstruction elsewhere? Craft without items in your inventory as long as they're in nearby chests? Add Backpacks? Automatically fuel your lighting sources? Extend your comfort range? Add a clock?
