so boars will not be able to rip through the wooden fence easily, even a 2 star.

wolves will rip through wood very easily, they have been taking lessons from beavers, your best bet is to try and trap them in a stone structure, leave render distance and sneak, sneak till you have a crosshair that is a flat line then walk back, WALK back. when you start to get close sneak. as for lox, a Pit is best but a super thick stone structure would work too. the key is just getting far away from them so they reset their state to normal which usually means getting afar away and getting them to no be rendered anymore. they will still be there.

2 star night time wolves are really the only tricky one since those will despawn after daybreak if the player leaves.
