This...and I have several large iron chests full of wood, plenty of eyes, etc. Once you have several bases, it gets to be pretty demanding if you have sconces around. Perhaps if they burned the resin slower? Something is needed here...
You could perhaps consider the Valheim Plus mod; By default basically all of it's features are disabled so you can selectively enable them. One of my favorite ones to enable is in the 'FireSource' section.
; If set to true, torch-type fire sources will stay at max fuel level once filled. ; Applies to: wood torches, iron torches, green torches, sconces and brazier. torches = false
In short, when that specific setting is enabled, once you fill a given torch/sconce/light source to maximum fuel, it will stay full. It still costs the resin to craft, and the resin to top it off- but then it stops needing resin and you don't need to micromanage filling them. (And if you'd like to micro manage certain ones, stop filling at 1 less than maximum and it will still consume resin over time.)

I particularly like that change since it means for large builds I can actually use torches and light it up without dedicating 95% of my playtime to farming for resin; And it still has what I consider to be a fair resin cost in setting it up to begin with.

Tbh, there's probably a standalone mod that does the same thing or very similar.
