I'm a new player just learning the Swamp. It took me 4 swamps to find one with a crypt. It had two in fact and I got enough iron to make an iron weapon and armor set.

After I got those upgrades, it is now quite a bit easier. But what has really helped me is using a Hoe to make dry ground to fight from. Also, once you learn the enemies, it's not too hard.

I like it in fact and don't mind the grind-but I don't mind grinding/farming in general. So far I like the swamp and wouldn't change a thing.
