It can get stupid dark in fog and in crypts under combat situations. I generally didn't bother even then, mainly because the headlamp has terrible armor property, but I started using one around the base for complex building projects, chief of which became placing and rotating underwater blocks on barely reachable terrain in foul weather for dock building in storms, fog, on a raft, night, etc.

ah, so its good for super niche construction moments.

I suppose id spot more mushrooms if I had a light, once every rare moon I do mistake a rock for a mushroom.
