remeber how lots of people complained about Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? They were upset because something they loved had been royally F'ed up. Thats i kind of whats happening with Valheim. The people who are complaining really loved the game the way it was and all the changes have detracted from the fun they had playing it and they are making their voices heard. That's why they included dev commands. This game severely needs a new and more fair death mechanic. There are lots of scenarios where you cannot recover items after death. Making the player lose hours of progress doesn't make the game more "hard" or "difficult" but is just unfair and annoying.
Why anyone would allow themselves to get so frustrated with a game is beyond me. People seem to forget gaming is for entertainment. If you are not entertained, change it so you are enjoying yourself.
Most people want a game that is engaging enough to distract them from their life and let them relax without making them put too much effort into it. Just somthing to do while they chill out from work or recover from the family reunion. If they had wanted something that required micro managing their food and having to worry about stamina they would have been playing a different game right from the start.
Thats why they get frustrated. They are trying to play a game they really enjoyed playing that has suddenly changed the rules on them and is forcing them to deal with extra concerns that weren't there before. Some won''t care, some will love the new mechanics, some will eventually get used to it, and others will just stop playing when they get tied of dealing with the changes.
The thing to keep in mind is a good 90% of the people who play Valheim are not posting in these forums at all. They don't care enough about the game either way to bother. So most of that 10% who do care are going to be on oposite sides of the update.
