I already keep an open area for sundials to help with the timekeeping, so that's not a big issue. I value immersion over contemporary standards of tool-dependency.
That being said, streamlining the crafting experience sounds good, as melting can be a chore, and anything that might add *some* new build pieces to fill in the gaps in vanilla would be ok too I guess, but I don't want to go overboard with custom build pieces.
I certainly wouldn't mind extending the comfort range, so I didn't have to restrict myself so much as to where I place the furnishings that add comfort.
Expanding farming to include berries and other normally not-farmable plants too.
Saving building blueprints for later reconstruction? Hell yeah! Ideally if it works retroactively on already constructed buildings though, as I have villages worth of original constructions.
I'll probably start small with a few essential mods, then add more mods along the way when I get more acquainted with the different mods, and when they add something that enhance the experience in a meaningful way to me. For now though, I just want a starting point with a few essentials addressing some of the things I outlined above without going through a back-catalogue of mods from the 1850s that worked when my ancestors viewed the world through black-and-white-tinted lenses, but mods that work with the current game version.
