That is literally what this post is about. There should be a better and built in way.

Most people don't play that way. They've all ready made friends and aren't looking for a new world when you want them to be looking for your new world and the people that are looking for that are usually griefers that just want to cause trouble and trash your new set up.

Without setting up specific times to play with specific people you are taking pot luck in which case you should just set up a new world on an open server and post that on the looking for group section. Don't be surprised if people come in with maxed out characters and rush all the bosses just to annoy you and any other legit players.

This is not something the devs can fix. They have given you the tools and its up to you to whitelist/blacklist players or password protect your world so that only trusted players can join.

Yes, make a tab called "Join new world" and when one clicks it they will a games list of people waiting for someone to join in order to start the world.

Make another tab for "Join active worlds" and bam problem solved.

Let people choose to password protect them or not.

Something devs can't fix? Well thats pretty not right because uhmmmm devs code and make the game. They make content for the game. They made the menus for the game. Uhm yeah you have to make a game with a password fyi. Can't have an open game. Don't want to have to post in the forums to join a game. You're missing the point yet again.

If people come in with maxed out characters and destroy the world? LOL thats part of "If you play online multiplayer you accept the risks yada yada yada" every other game that has this option has this disclosure.

You would also be amazed how many people are looking for brand new worlds with brand new characters as well.
