How did you get the idea that people are digging trenches because they have problems with the raids?

There are different ways to secure a base.

Why should you block dozens of sharp piles if I don't need or want to?
Sharp posts cost normal wood and pine wood, and if they are destroyed, both are gone (whether this is currently just a mistake or whether this is intentional, I don't know), i.e. it just costs unnecessary raw materials.

In addition, you don't have to constantly drag a pack of enemies behind you when an attack comes, but can fight them in peace or do what I wanted to do without being negatively surprised.

As I said, this has absolutely nothing to do with problems caused by attacks, that's pure comfort and convenience - at least for me.
