Howdy. Some general tips.

Upgrade gear as much as you can.
Be on the lookout for new food. 3 food wherever possible.
Learn to parry/block.
Be sneaky.
Figure out which type of greydwarf are priority kills.
Have a bow and attack from range while being sneaky.
keep an eye on stamina- if it runs out you won't be able to fight or run. sometimes you'll need to walk away to build up stamina (rested bonus will help here)

one more thing most of the grey dwarves are afraid of fire so if all else fails carry a torch (or three). they can still attack from range and be careful of the ones that don't seem to be afraid of fire. Also fun to set them on fire....but attacking or blocking with the torch will reduce its duration.
