When a game has online only + MTX you know its going to be a ♥♥♥♥ game in the long run, since the company is using you to keep them alive, its a very parasitic way of running games these days. If the players dont buy MTX the game dies, and the players obviously dont want it to die so they keep paying.

Never buy MTX in any game without knowing the value of what you are consuming

TLDR: MTX is a way for companies to condition you to spend more for less, there is a reason we have battlepasses now and loot boxes are bad, even tho both are bad
exceptions to the rule do exist, like path of exile. that one has taken over a decade before it caved in to the battle pass gravy train. heck some whitegoods don't last that long. dont starve together from memory also does mtx's. in terms of simple to get into and a game that has an end, could be something like untitled goose game.
