This is documented, but it still doesn't make the game to blame.

I'd suggest you clean your pc.. maybe check your air throughput and possibly reseat your gpu if it's more than 2 yrs old. But regardless.. you'll be convinced by now because some half dozen people on reddit said it.. it has to be the absolute truth.

In the majority of overheating cases.. it's actually the power supply at fault. The psu starts to fail, causing raised temps inside the box, whilst at same time starving systems of power causing them to bsod and crash.

A psu failure indicates fans being unable to spin up to their necessary speeds to extract heat.. causing gpus and motherboard to fry.. the software is just whatever was running at the time.
