I have it, and it is not really handy. It just slices your view in 2(different cameras, but still), so you can hook it up your VR.

It won't provide locomotion or hand gesture control(not in a way it might be actually useful, anyway).

If you have an old game that has 0 chance to become VR - then yeah. That is basically your only chance to see your favourite world in VR.
