You don't need more resource when you play alone. You need less resources for equipement, food, etc. It is no more grindy solo.

That said, maybe playing alone with no one to talk to and share the experience can make the game more lonely, so seems more tedious. I can understand that. Personnaly, I don't have I like it as much alone than with a friend. Different experience.

That the key. Being in Meadows give you peace, and being next to ocean allow you to make resources gathering much, much efficient and easy. Take a boat, follow shores of Black Forest, searching for copper deposits near the sea. That also where you find tin deposit.

One trip like this with a boat filled with ores gives you almost everything you need. Maybe a second trip can be necessary.

I can't imagine building my home inland, far from the shore.
