later in the game you wanna make structures with black marble not stone. stone is now used for landshapeing mostly.

and getting stone lol. once you get to the mistlands there is GIANT STONE PILLARS everywhere. like the one in the plains sometimes. except bigger. and they are EVERYWHERE. you can mine 1000 stone in like 15 minutes there. there is no reason to ever safe stone in this game anymore.

There never was any reason to save stone. The world is huge and there are rocks every where.
