The world and its denizens are vaguely adapted from nordic mythology.
Some monsters have clearly non-physical attacks or abilities, like throwing thunder, breathing poisonous gas, or casting a healing aura.
Some recipes could be interpreted as being alchemic, as do some crafted items.

I believe it's fair to say that they are a minority, and finely embedded in the game settings.
