Thanks for the replies, folks. Seed is 9sHeW4hLBi. Not using any mods, no. I tried Fzanco's suggestion and started a new game and it looks very different than what I've been experiencing. So I think something went sideways when I was setting up the private server. Gonna keep with it as I love the weirdness. I'll report back if I find anything game breaking.
