I hate that things will just hang around forever. I built a place by the water and made a short pier and when I want to get rid of something I'll go to the end of the pier and throw it into the water. It sinks and I don't have to see it.

Yes you can. Throw out of the circle like i said and then in a couple in game days, they will despawn
