No need to visit a different island. Get a boat or raft in shallow waters or ashore anywhere, and watch the local fauna attack it (at least, nekkes).

Perhaps dropping a workbench close to it should prevent critters from appearing too close?

Also, it can be reefs, rocks, or floatting/immerged logs that rammed it to death, in case of storms.
