The wind angle is pretty generous in this game. Unless the wind is heading directly from the direction you're heading, you should be able to always sail either directly or almost directly towards where you're going. If you can't, just try tacking.

Wind is pretty much necessary, right? Or are you suggesting that your sails should always be full in any direction you're sailing? That would seem pretty silly to me.
