It sounds like Depth of Field to me. Just turn it off.When I played, I liked to turn DoF on for screenshots, because it looks more artistic. But for gameplay, it just makes everything blurry.

Thanks for all your helpful replies! Turns out I was just dumb and didn't go to my user, instead i went to "default" in appdata.

I think the idea was to still have the weapons sorta grounded in viking culture, which mostly never featured swords long enough to be held in two hands
