No overworld enemy spawn changed have been made for some time. The latest update was almost two weeks ago and it only made infested mine respawns possible and some unrelated spawn things in other biom..

Just ignore them until you get a large group of them. Take out your aetgir, use the special attack twice, then pick up the stuff you want and keep going.
