That's the thing. The mod increases the limit you mentioned. Apparently it worked for a lot of people with the exact problem you and me have. I wish there was one up to date though.

Not sure it'll ever get fixed. Our game became unplayable at times. Had 5 guys in a server. Definitely brings down the desire to play.

It depends on what you are sneaking up on and what direction you are approaching it from. Most creatures can see you from 30 meters and alert on you from 20 meters. Vision isn't really what sneak redu..

You have to be aware of wind direction too. It can carry your smell and alert your prey.
