This was a change they made a long time ago to stop people from making mob farmers. If any entity steps on a campfire or hearth it will take damage and eventually break.

Fires are meant to take damage when stepping on them. This is an anti-cheese method to stop players from using fires as a form of defensive weapon.

I saw this once yesterday idk what happened but he was outside the pen. It was only one instance so needs more testing.

Ive had no problem killing seekers with the ice staff. Eat one magic food and burst fire them. should knock one out and slows

yeah i prefer the sword to.maybe the beetle shell protects them against fire? I cold slows them down.

oh, even then there is still lots of tiny islands, but a few bigger landmasses too.If you have started a new world, look around some. The first place you find is unlikely to be the best place.

a small addition to item slots / effectively more slots would have been nice indeed, throwing carts up and around cliffs ain't fun. And building bridges that get blown to bits later on anyway aint fun..

would be nice if you could upgrade the carry limit belt, to increase the limit and carry slots. cause armor takes up like 6 slots or so already. very limited.
