a1 has a large start island with a lot of the biomes. I have not had time to go in and look through it personally. The ones that are off the main island don't seem to be too far of a boat ride either...

From the picture, it looks like there are parts of it pretty close to other terrain. Try taking out those pieces and it should pop.Edit: Nice, you got it!

ok I got it. apparently the edge of the pillar needs to be really far away from the ground edge and if the ground is inclined as mine was, then the edge needs to be even farther than that. still more ..

Add a ladder to gain access to the top and you have a great refuge during, "You Are Being Hunted", wolf invasion event ...

I have a huge herd of tamed lox protecting my base. But how cool would it be if you could mount one of your tamed lox, then use some sort of horn, or riding whip, etc to pied piper a stampede of tamed..

You can't make truly underground structures. Your best bet is to make the illusion by tunnelling into a cluster of large boulders or carving out a basement space before you build a structure over it.T..

Set the castle up so its side sticks into boulder floor level and tunnel down and out under the boulder.The boulder should support the castle wall just fine if you don't remove the intersecting parts ..

Caves are not possible per the developers and most likely will not make it into the game. As Delle wrote, you can dig a big hole and cover it with stone floor to sort of create a dungeon.

Advice? Check out a couple of youtube vids on simple home construction. It's not too bad, most people, me included, usually die of asphixiation when starting out. GLHF!

How far does it need to be from already explored areas? There is a very big mountain island with some swamp and I only explored the swamp, is that too close?

If you caves spawned in explored areas your would be even worse off. At least this way you know all the places you don't need to search. I would suggest that very few people have explored the entire w..

I saw on a Jiroc video that Grimcore (Dev) said there are several types of magic in Valheim, and each thing you see draws magic from a different source. The fuling mage draws magic in a different way ..

If you already think that this is "grind", wait till you get to iron and all the stuff that can be made of it...
