Hm, I'm pretty sure they're just spawned in as soon as I hit something, and I've been in areas where I couldn't see one single greydwarf in the vicinity. I start hitting something, boom, they come out..

Not sure if that is going to help, as they are indeed spawned by you just doing loud noises. At least to my best knowledge.

Try clearing the area before you mine or chop wood.

You're only over prepared when you are working on your third set of top black forest weapons and armor along with a months worth of food and potions, oh and enough extra surtling cores for a couple do..

Playing in co op will massively increase the health of enemies. Not much of an issue at first, but by the time you reach the swamp it can be a pain in the arse
