Smaller swamps generally won't have any, I've always had more luck in the big, fat chunks of swamp. You'll come across one that has heaps.

I can't tell you anything about V Rising but if you've never been into survival games, Valheim is a good start I guess. Unlike many other games in that genre Valheim doesn't have the constant struggle..

An isle of solitude works great as long as you cover the island with spawn preventive measures. Raids will happen but the enemies will have to swim to get to you. I like it.

some swamps have none, esp smaller areas. Look for a bigger area or just move on. Good swamps will have a dozen +.

I use an Xbox 1 controller and do not have to use Big Picture Mode. I can remap buttons using the Xbox app on my computer.

you need big picture to use the steam overlay to change the controls. Otherwise you don't need it if you use the default controller setup.
