I get Raids quite often but typically only those associated with the latest boss killed or I'm "being hunted" quite often. I rarely see Fulings or Drakes, and the Ooze Raid is...kinda sad as..

Yup. @GunsForBucks is correct. LoD literally means "Level of Detail". It does not pertain to draw distance.

Sounds like status effects are not affected by pausing, I bet the timer stops but the effect still occurs which is why you died to freezing damage. Definitely a bug.
