When you say undiscovered mountains, how far were they from your existing map exploration? I believe there's a 500m radius around the places you've actually been that will still be locked into the old..

Troll caves do seem to respawn sometimes? Or perhaps those are bugs caused by patches. But even if they don't, I've gotten around 30+ per cave. Note you can loot the ones hanging on the walls also and..

Yeah, it's just a copy of the save before the current one, I assume so the game can never crash in a way that leaves you with a corrupted save and no recourse.

There have always been the regular file and the .old file, its basically a backup. I wouldn't mess with or worry about it.

Its probably nearby, the patch notes said they moved slightly... if you are already there, circle the old one. if you gave up, as above, get the new loc.

Remove the location from your map and read the vegvisirs again. They have indeed changed.
