i tried building a makeshift shelter by mining out a large boulder into a cave. since it faces the shore it seems to be keeping enemies from reaching me. Will let you know how it goes =D

If you don't want to use a boat play another game, boats are essential to Valheim and core to the experience.There are other games in teh same genre w2ith no boats from Conan Exiles to The Forest.

wolves are perfect. You just have to learn how to cope with them.

It's very easy to not tame them. At least I've had no problem avoiding taming wolves with zero effort.
