Hmm ... things I gleaned from your post, which was an epic tale..!1) the first speed of a boat is rowing, which ignores wind more or less. You could have rowed against the wind. 2) but, rowing is slow..

You seem to cannot pause on dedicated servers, even if you are alone. Otherwise its just hitting the ESC key.
